How can I easily get pregnant?

If you want to get pregnant easily then you must try to conceive during your most fertile period i.e. around ovulation. You must try to eat healthy and balanced nutritious meals as well as keep a check on your weight for gaining pregnancy. Adopting a healthy lifestyle also helps you to attain conception quickly. This incorporates doing light exercise on a regular basis and staying away from oily and processed food items. Staying away from liquor and stress is also equally important for a woman who is trying for conception. The last thing that can help you to get pregnant easily is taking up a prenatal appointment with your gynecologist to know your reproductive health and stocking up the supplements as recommended for obtaining pregnancy.

How much does an IVF cycle cost?

The cost of IVF treatment usually depends on the clinic you choose. The average IVF cost for one cycle in India can be INR 2,50,000 and can even go up to INR 4,50,000. These rates are usually for private infertility clinics. There are not many government-run infertility clinics. Metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, etc. will usually have higher costs. Women who are above age 35 may require multiple IVF cycles as they may not conceive in the very first cycle. Further, there could also be additional costs if donor sperm or eggs are used. Lastly, if you decide to freeze the embryos, the cost would increase further.

Should a doctor consider a woman's age before recommending IVF?

IVF is effectively possible for women who are within the age group of thirty five years. As per the fertility experts, those women who have crossed thirty five years are likely to get less success in IVF pregnancy. It is so because with an increase in maternal age, a woman's fertility gets deteriorated and the quality of eggs too. In such cases, using a donor egg of a younger woman can help to get success in the achievement of pregnancy through IVF. As per the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, a woman may opt for the IVF treatment from the age of 23 years to 39 years, if they're unable to conceive by natural means. A woman's age is a major factor in the success of IVF treatment, therefore, a doctor must consider their age before recommending them for the treatment.

What exactly is IVF treatment?

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a commonly used assisted reproduction technique through which a woman can have her baby. The woman?s eggs are stimulated with the help of fertility medication and her uterus is prepared for implantation. With the help of laparoscopic techniques, eggs are retrieved and mixed with the male partner?s sperm. The resulting embryos develop in around two to five days and they are monitored for quality. If the embryos are viable, they can be transferred back to the uterus. Some good quality leftover embryos can be frozen and used later for repeat treatment.

When should I start trying for a baby?

The best time to conceive and become pregnant is around ovulation. You can try one or two days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation also to conceive faster. When you ovulate and have sex before then sperms are already waiting in the tube to meet with the egg as against after ovulation. The best time to conceive is during ovulation because your fertility is at its peak during this time and hence, conception becomes easier and successful during this time. As far as the maternal age is concerned then the best time for a woman to conceive would be in her early 20s or 30s. A woman should be aware of the pregnancy stages and the preparation required for giving birth before trying for a conception to occur. You can attend a prenatal class for this purpose or simply visit a good fertility clinic for this purpose.
